So, I don't usually read too many series that are this long with the same characters. But Gabriel Allon and his cast of black ops spies are just too irresistible. While all series of this kind get a bit formulaic, Silva always manages to entertain me and leave me wanting just one more book.

I'm very excited about Gabriel dragging himself away from his precious art restorations :) Was listening to an interview Elaine Charles from the Book report show had with Silva (the archived version on their website - bookreportradio dotcom, and Silva admitted to 'sort of' basing his novels on real life news incidents. In this particular case I think he must be loving the whole Snowden affair - but only because it'll help his book sales. Can't wait to get the book.
